Madeira Island Nature Walks

This is a fabulous tour what everyone should do if you are interested in seeing the best of Madeira and learn about history, culture, flora and fauna of this beautiful island. Depart Funchal through Carreiras along the beautiful landscape to Ribeiro Frio , a natural park with a trout’s hatchery. On to Santana , famous for it’s brightly coloured “A” shaped framed houses with thatched roof. We proceed our journey through the rural part of Madeira by passing by: São Jorge , Ponta Delgada to São Vicente and use the scenic road on the rocks, astonishing waterfalls can be seen as we drive via Seixal to the village of Porto Moniz , where we stop for lunch in a restaurant overlooking the rock swimming pools. After lunch, we pass through the plateau of Paúl da Serra and the villages like: Ponta do Sol , Ribeira Brava and Câmara de Lobos of the sunny southwest before returning to Funchal.
